In late 2009, I was asked by musicologist (and Harry Partch expert) Bob Gilmore to write an article about the Tonal Plexus for the second volume of the Fokker Institute's Journal: Thirty-One, a microtonal series, the first volume of which had appeared in 2004. I submitted my article in 2010 and it was accepted for publication, but the journal has not published its second volume yet, some two years hence. Since so much time has passed, I recently wrote to Bob to ask if it would be all right to place the article online here as a PDF, which he thought would be just fine.
