Tonal Plexus Editor is a tuning editor for Mac OSX and Windows featuring a virtual Tonal Plexus keyboard (not required for use of the software) at your fingertips. It allows you to tune any key of a TPX or U-PLEX keyboard to any pitch, using ratios, Hz values, decimals, constants and functions, code snippets, user definable algorithms, and more. Import Scala and .tun files, quickly edit any tuning, create and save region maps, see and hear user definable chord shapes, and more. Live MIDI Input feature receives MIDI from any source to microtune up to 1688 unique pitches over 16 MIDI channels.
NOTICE: TPXE has been discontinued and replaced by Universal Tuning Editor. Existing authorised installations will continue to work, but new installations cannot be authorised, and the software is no longer being maintained (bugs will not be fixed). Please go to the UTE product page to upgrade.
Between 2007 and 2019, TPXE was updated in response to feedback from its users. The development process was documented for a few years on the TPXE Reports Page, which can be accessed by anyone with an H-Pi web account. TPXE has been replaced by Universal Tuning Editor and is therefore no longer being maintained (bugs will not be fixed).
