MIDI Tapper, PDF Bookmaker Updates

December 15, 2020

When I use MIDI Tapper, which averages probably at least once a week, I continue to be amazed at what an effective tool it is. I can say that without bragging, because although I am the author of the software, I didn't invent the idea that makes it so great. That idea comes from music-animation extraordinaire Stephen Malinowski. I had the pleasure of collaborating with Stephen over several years developing MIDI Tapper, and from time to time we still exchange thoughts about ways to improve the app. This version of MIDI Tapper fixes a few reported bugs and adds a new fixed velocity option — useful if you're working with a velocity-sensing MIDI controller but you want input that is fixed velocity. Now there is a box in the Preferences Window to check for that.

Since 2015, PDF Bookmaker has been sold though our sister-company Mather Point Software. The app continues to be hosted there, though it is now linked to from this website and (if everything goes as planned) it will be migrating over in 2021. This app is useful for pre-press self-publishing whatever you like — books of poetry, short stories, novels, or (what I normally use it for) books of music.

I was recently contacted by an author who reported several problems occurring with the latest version of OSX. He also requested a feature: could the title and/or the author's name be optionally printed along with the page numbering? As my loyal readers know (both of you), I normally ask to be paid for adding features, but if the idea is good enough and easy enough to implement, I'll do it for free. This was one of those rarer latter cases. I'm happy to release this update which fixes problems on MacOS and makes the app even more useful for everyone.

Please download the updates from the MIDI Tapper and PDF Bookmaker product pages.

Stay well everyone,
Aaron
